NY Waterway is once again honored to provide FREE Ferry Service on all routes for ALL active-duty military & veterans with valid Veteran or Military ID.
This year’s Parade marks a number of anniversaries: the 77th of the end of World War II, the 72nd of the beginning of the Korean War, and the 32nd of the end of the Panama Invasion and the beginning of Desert Shield.
The United States Coast Guard is this year’s featured military branch. As always, the Army, Navy, Marines and Air Force will also be represented!
The parade features over 300 marching elements and an estimated 20-30,000 participants, including veterans of all eras, military units, civic and youth groups (including Junior ROTC), businesses, and top high school marching bands from across America.
The parade will occur on Thursday, November 11 (Veterans Day), rain or shine. This year, the Parade will start at 12:00 noon (at the conclusion of the Opening Ceremony, see below) and concludes around 3:30pm.
The Parade will proceed on its traditional route, stepping off at 25th Street and Fifth Avenue and going north on Fifth Avenue.
