Short Holiday Video Competition Terms & Conditions

Official Rules.

NO PURCHASE OR PAYMENT OF ANY KIND IS NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN THIS COMPETITION. A PURCHASE WILL NOT INCREASE YOUR CHANCES OF WINNING. Registration with Facebook is necessary to post videos.

You agree that, by submitting an entry on the NY Waterway Facebook Page (http://www.facebook.com/nywaterway) you will be bound by these Official Rules and you acknowledge that you release all rights to the photos and videos, and your name, for general viewing and use by NY Waterway, Port Imperial Ferry Corporation, its subsidiaries, and agents.

By participating in this competition, you completely release Facebook of any liabilities, acknowledge that the promotion is no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with Facebook and acknowledge that you are providing information to NY Waterway and not to Facebook.

Eligibility:

If you are an individual legal resident of the 50 United States or the District of Columbia and are 18 or older at the time of entry, you are eligible to enter the Competition. Submissions from individuals under 18 years of age can be submitted, but a legal guardian will be required to receive a prize.

Our NY Waterway / PIFC employees, their immediate family members (spouses, domestic partners, parents, grandparents, siblings, children and grandchildren), advisors or advertising/promotion agencies (and their immediate family members) are not eligible to win any of the prizes, but are eligible to post photos to the Facebook page.

Winners will be required to show proper identification at the time of the award. Minors will be required to have a guardian to take possession of the award.

Videos cannot have been taken prior to November 1, 2011.

Only videos that are uploaded directly to the NY Waterway Facebook Wall are eligible to win.

Only videos taken by persons posting the material are eligible to win. No copyright material is eligible for posting or winning.

Individuals entering the competition agree to follow the Facebook Terms of Service (http://www.facebook.com/nywaterway#!/terms.php)

How to Enter:

You may enter the Competition beginning at 12:01 AM the day on which the Competition initiates. Competition submissions, as well as votes during the Competition, come to a close at 11:59 PM the day on which the Competition ends.

To enter, you must:

Go to http://www.facebook.com/nywaterway and upload a video that is 5 minutes or less. This must be holiday themed. Please see the "How to participate" section of the Competition rules for more details.
Upload the video file to the NY Waterway Facebook page wall. Videos posted to a personal (outside of the NY Waterway profile wall) will not be included in the contest.
Clearly identify your name, and the date the video was created. Please limit the number of videos you load to the best of the best.
Be the first person to comment on the video and give as much information about where and when the video was taken.

To win you should encourage your friends and family to go to the www.facebook.com/nywaterway website and click the “Like” button.

How to Win:

The top video with the most number of Likes will be the winner in the Video Competition.

Prizes:

NY Waterway will award prizes after the end of each competition period.

Prize Announcement:

We will notify the potential winners by phone or e-mail within 5 business days following the end of the competition and tell them how they can claim their prize. We will select an alternative potential winner if any potential winner does not claim the prize within 5 days of notification, or fails to meet the eligibility criteria.

Odds of Winning. Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible postings to Facebook combined with the number of "Likes" (votes) by the general public and other Facebook viewers.

Additional Terms. NY Waterway and their promotional agents reserve the right to remove videos it deems lewd or indecent without notice or explanation. It is at the sole discretion of NY Waterway what it considers inappropriate and unsuited for general public viewing.

We may, to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law and in our sole discretion, change these rules or suspend or cancel the Competition at any time. PIFC / NY Waterway becomes the sole owners of the posted photos and videos and may promote them or use them in promotion without additional permission or credit. PIFC/NYWATERWAY is not responsible for any malfunctions at Facebook or with computer equipment, transmission entries, or for technical, network, telephone, computer, hardware or software, malfunctions of any kind, or inaccurate transmission of, or failure to receive any entry information on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any website. We may, in our sole discretion, disqualify any individual found to be: tampering with the entry process or the operation of the competition or website; acting in violation of these rules; or acting in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner or with intent to annoy abuse, threaten or harass any other person. If you use robotic, automatic, programmed or similar entry methods, your entry will be void. No greater than the number of prizes stated in these Official Rules will be awarded.

Miscellaneous. If you win a prize, you may not redeem the prize for cash. All decisions and awards are final. Winners will be announced on Facebook and posted for 90 days on the rules page at the end of the Competition.
