Customer Spotlight

I grew up in New Jersey and went to college in upstate New York. I now live in Michigan with my wife, Marla, and my 3 1/2 year old son, Andrew. We come to New Jersey and New York often to visit my family and friends and to enjoy all of the wonders of New York City. My wife, a native Michigander, is terrified of driving in New York City. When I was growing up, my father commuted to New York City from NJ and he often took us to visit his family in New York City. My brother managed to learn to drive in NYC, but I never did. I have only done it a few times, and I share my wife's fear of NYC driving. For us, the only way to visit New York City is to use NY Waterway.  
I'm almost 42, and it's been about 20 years since I moved to Michigan. I am now definitely a tourist in NYC, so sometimes I might need a little help with figuring out what to do and where to go. In the parking lot, in the terminal, on the ferry, or on the buses, the NY Waterway staff is ready to answer questions and offers to help without being asked. I'm sure they can spot a tourist a mile away. They're the best at helping the customers, and they make our trip smooth and easy.
When we board, we also talk about the honorable and heroic actions of NY Waterway during the Miracle on the Hudson incident and the September 11 attacks. As my son gets older, I'll enjoy telling him these stories of heroism while on board these ferries of a company that will always be part of history.  
Back in Michigan, I enjoy the NYW Facebook updates. It's a fun way to keep in touch with one of my favorite parts of our New York City visits. It is now also a privilege to be featured in the Customer Spotlight. Thank you to everyone at NY Waterway for all that you do for commuters, visitors, and tourists. Your efforts are exemplary and help make our trips to New York City a perfect experience.
